Leslie Laredo is an interactive and Internet advertising pioneer with more than 25 years in the online and interactive industry. She has been instrumental in changing the face of the interactive media business and dramatically improving the knowledge and skills of media professionals on how to buy and sell interactive media. Leslie founded Laredo Group in 1996, and her company has trained over 40,000 media professionals and has consulted with start-ups, Fortune 500 companies, advertising agencies, media publishers, and technology companies.
Working directly with C-level executives, vice presidents, publishers, sales and account managers, senior media and human relations directors, Leslie and her team have designed, developed, and implemented training programs for teams of a dozen employees to several hundred. Laredo Group’s training expertise spans a broad range of categories, and Leslie oversees custom training program development for CPG, B2B brands, automotive, travel, financial, pharmaceutical, and many others to educate their teams on how to plan, buy, and sell digital media. Her insights, advice, and training have allowed sales organizations to more efficiently meet the needs of their advertisers while maximizing revenues. She has also worked with agencies of all sizes to be more effective in delivering online media strategies, as well transitioning their businesses to provide the thought leadership and digital media and marketing skills required to keep and acquire clients.
Leslie has worked for several online companies, including Prodigy, Ziff-Davis Interactive, and AT&T Business Network. She has one additional start-up company under her entrepreneurial belt, an internet ad rep firm which was sold to Softbank prior founding Laredo Group. In addition, she was one of the founding Board members and helped launch the Internet Advertising Bureau (IAB), the standard-setting industry trade association.
With a Bachelors of Science degree from Cornell University, she studied abroad in Uppsala, Sweden, and while there attended the Nobel Prize ceremony in Stockholm. She also studied international management at the University of Texas. She splits her time between her home in Fort Lauderdale and apartment in New York City.
Leslie has been on the Board of Breastcancer.org since 2010 and is on the organizing committee for New York’s Bowling for Breastcancer.org, sponsored by the largest media and advertising companies.
