Barbara Ralston, M.Sc.

Page last modified on: August 15, 2008

Barbara Ralston is the Director of The Health Library at Stanford, a leading consumer health information resource center that is a community service of Stanford University Medical Center. The library encompasses four branch sites and extends its local services to a worldwide community through a sophisticated Internet site.

Having been with the library since 1989, overseeing all aspects of the organization's growth, Barbara knows "how vital it is for patients to have access to credible resources that offer some level of human interaction. We offer that access at The Health Library, and we need resources like Breastcancer.org to make our work possible. I am proud to be involved in bringing Breastcancer.org to as large an audience as possible."

Barbara's background is in health and administration. Previously a consultant with Arthur D. Little, Inc., she holds a B.S. in Microbiology from Stanford University, and an M.Sc. in Demography and Public Health from London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, University of London.
