FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Breastcancer.org has launched a new initiative to motivate its community to ramp up their exercise programs and drop unhealthy weight this spring. The program has two primary goals: pushing visitors to become active by setting weight loss goals and meeting them; and also encouraging women to donate to Breastcancer.org, helping to provide the most reliable, complete, and up-to-date information about breast cancer at no cost to visitors.
Dr. Marisa Weiss, president and founder of Breastcancer.org, has pledged a donation of $145—her target weight in dollars. Other women have pledged donations equal to the number of pounds they intend to lose.
A crucial part of the Spring Into Health! initiative is the online discussion board, "The Pound." In this forum, visitors share their daily struggles, healthy recipes, and exercise tips. With daily additions, The Pound is a constant source of encouragement and advice for women struggling to stay healthy through their battle with breast cancer.
Dr. Weiss encourages family, friends, and coworkers to join their loved ones in this endeavor towards healthy living and risk reduction, and weight management. On the discussion board she says, "This weight loss combination fundraising effort is very personal to me. I need your help with the weight loss and exercise push—plus your support. So many of you feel the same, so let's do it together."
