Breastcancer.org Names Rita Lusen Vice President of Corporate Partnerships and Marketing

Ardmore, PA – November 7, 2011 Breastcancer.org, the leading online resource for breast health and breast cancer information and support, announces the appointment of Rita Lusen as vice president of corporate partnerships and marketing. Lusen joined Breastcancer.org on September 12, 2011. In her new position, Lusen will manage the development and marketing departments; she will also create and direct a new fundraising strategy for the organization.

Most recently, Lusen served as chief marketing officer for Philadelphia-based WHYY, a nonprofit public broadcasting TV, radio, and website organization. In this role, she was responsible for generating revenue through corporate support, major donor gifts, event venue rentals, and foundation support. In the past fiscal year, Lusen led her team to successfully increase year-over-year corporate support and increased net online revenue significantly. During her tenure with WHYY, she developed the business plan for corporate support, online giving, and the overall marketing strategy for NewsWorks.org, a news and information website that launched in November 2010.

“After my positive diagnosis in August of 2007, Breastcancer.org played a critical role in providing me with information, answers, and counsel at any time, day or night, during my most challenging moments,” said Lusen. “The site continues to be relevant and provide valuable information and updates. Lusen brings more than 27 years of experience in advertising and marketing in the print, radio, television, and online industries at both commercial and nonprofit organizations. Her experience includes various management positions in the advertising department for The Philadelphia Inquirer, Daily News and Philly.com. Lusen is a graduate of Temple University.
