Casey joined Breastcancer.org in February 2013 as development coordinator. In this role, she works within the development department assisting with grant management, special events, and research for prospective funding opportunities.
After graduating from Temple University in 2009 with a B.A. in journalism, Casey began her nonprofit career in local government where she delved into communications, grant writing, and project management. She worked closely with the municipality’s legislative advocacy team and successfully secured a number of funding opportunities. After taking on a communications-focused role thereafter, she soon found herself longing for a more philanthropic career path.
On her move to Breastcancer.org, she says, “I have watched people I love very much in my life battle cancer. So, to have an opportunity to work with an organization that brings genuine understanding and comfort to those facing cancer head-on — it’s something I feel humbled, eager, and wildly grateful to be part of.”
Casey resides outside of Philadelphia with her family and keeps special places in her heart for live music, photography, her daughter’s infectious laugh, and spicy tuna rolls.
