Karen joined the Breastcancer.org team in April 2008 as the director of marketing.
Karen, a graduate from Brandeis University, has 20 years of marketing experience - most of it concentrated in health care - with prominent global advertising agencies in New York (including Wunderman and Grey Worldwide) and Philadelphia (Digitas Health). She has worked at a senior strategic level across multiple channels, including digital marketing, general advertising, direct marketing and customer relationship management, and medical education. Her communication strategies have touched multiple national audiences, including health care professionals, patients, general consumers and caregivers, along with industry and third-party organizations.
Notably, Karen helped market Nolvadex (a breast cancer treatment) and was deeply involved with pro bono work for National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Some of Karen’s past clients include Weight Watchers, Johnson & Johnson, Wyeth, Bristol-Myers Squibb, and Citibank. Most recently for Johnson & Johnson’s Tylenol brand and Weight Watchers, Karen focused her efforts on crafting meaningful connections with patients through relevant, credible, and valuable information, fostering discussions with their health care professionals and enabling them to make better-informed decisions.
On joining Breastcancer.org, Karen said, “My career experiences over 20 years have formed a mosaic, leading me to Breastcancer.org and preparing me for this vitally important work. I’ve found my calling, and am thrilled at the chance to contribute.”
