conventional therapy [also called conventional treatment]

An accepted and widely used treatment for a certain type of disease. This is based on the results of past research and experience. This term is often used as a contrast to alternative, or complementary, treatment. You usually get conventional treatment from doctors and nurses in a hospital or clinic.
