Remember: No matter what the pathology report says about the cancer, there are many effective treatments available to deal with it.

Is the tumor a cancer?

A tumor is an overgrowth of cells. It can be made of normal cells or cancer cells. Cancer cells are cells that grow in an uncontrolled way. They may stay in the place where they started to grow. Or they may grow into the normal tissue around them.

The pathology report will tell you what kind of cells are in the tumor, and answer the following questions:
