Rosalind Kleban, L.C.S.W. is administrative supervisor for psychosocial programs at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center's Lauder Breast Center in New York City. She leads weekly support groups for women with early and advanced breast cancer. Rosalind knows firsthand the power of such groups to reduce the sense of isolation and loneliness nearly every woman feels as she undergoes breast cancer treatment. Ms. Kleban received the 2004 Susan G. Komen Professor of Survivorship Award as well as the Association of Oncology Social Workers' Social Worker of the Year award. She is also a member of Breastcancer.org's Professional Advisory Board.
Marc Silver is the author of Breast Cancer Husband: How to Help Your Wife (And Yourself) Through Diagnosis, Treatment, and Beyond. A reporter for over 30 years, Marc is now a deputy editor at National Geographic. Before his current position, Marc was on the News You Can Use staff at U.S. News & World Report, where he wrote about health, education, travel, books, and environmental issues. When Marc's wife Marsha was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2001, he wished he'd had a book to guide him through the next few months, because, as he says, "I had no clue what to do."
Breastcancer.org Founder and President Marisa Weiss, M.D. is the co-author of the new book, Taking Care of Your “Girls:" A Breast Health Guide for Girls, Teens, and In-Betweens and the acclaimed book, Living Beyond Breast Cancer. She frequently serves as a responsible voice on breast health and breast cancer to live and print media, including ABC’s Good Morning America, NBC’s TODAY, CNN breast cancer segments, Lifetime TV, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, and USA Today. Dr. Weiss speaks regularly at national conferences and is the recipient of awards from the American Cancer Society, Coping magazine, and Susan G. Komen for the Cure. She served two terms on the National Cancer Institute Director's Consumer Liaison Group, with a special interest in strengthening the sacred patient-doctor relationship.
