Question from Mwhite: I am on Herceptin. Are there any herbs I should not be taking?
- Answer —Raymond Chang, M.D.: I don't know of any herbs that are contraindicated because of Herceptin. But I think there are herbs which certain breast cancer patients should not be taking. I do not have a specific compound that is contraindicated based on Herceptin as a drug. However, every patient is different. Each individual breast cancer patient has herbs that she should not take. Only her Chinese medical doctor could tell her what those were.
