Financial Project Manager
Position summary
We are looking for an energetic and highly committed team member to be a part of our digital organization during a time of exciting growth. This person will play a key role in ensuring that projects, often grant-funded, are accurately and efficiently planned throughout the product life cycle, from budget planning through reporting.
As our Financial Project Manager, you will work closely with our VP of Finance to ensure the accuracy of financial project reporting in an audited, highly transparent financial environment. You will communicate regularly with a cross-functional team and external partners throughout the duration of the project to both collect and distribute information to ensure financial project efficiency.
Responsibilities
Manage expense reporting and time tracking systems to ensure project costs are allocated appropriately
Assist in creation of grant budgets and complete grant reconciliations
Help teams complete projects according to estimated budgets
Balance big picture business goals with day-to-day oversight
Build and work with cross-functional teams and across departments
Create methods to increase efficiency of financial reporting to enhance overall performance
Interpret and summarize complex data into meaningful financial reports
Qualifications
BA/BS degree, preferably in finance or accounting; if degree is another field, then demonstrated success in a financial role required
7+ years’ experience in financial project management, experience in the digital content field preferred
Strong organizational, analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills
Be solution-oriented, adaptable, determined, and with a positive attitude
Rigorous attention to and appreciation for detail
Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
Manage multiple competing projects to reach goals and deadlines while collaborating closely with a variety of stakeholders, both internal and external, on all aspects of projects
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment
Strong understanding of financial, budgeting, evaluation, and time tracking systems
Expertise with accounting systems (e.g. Quickbooks), project management tools (e.g. Asana) and Google Sheets/Excel
Proven ability to work autonomously as well as in teams
