More Than 300 Media and Marketing Leaders Gather to Honor Industry Champions and Raise Nearly $400K For Breastcancer.org
May 21, 2026 — Breastcancer.org today brought together more than 300 leaders from the media, marketing, and advertising industries at its 4th Annual Women in Media & Marketing Awards Luncheon, sponsored by Fullspan Health, Bloomberg, and Lilly. Representing more than 100 companies, attendees gathered at Tribeca 360 to recognize outstanding advocates for women's health and to support Breastcancer.org's mission to ensure that no one faces breast cancer alone. Over four years, the event has raised more than $1.3 million for the organization’s critical work.
Six-time Olympic medalist Elana Meyers Taylor — the most decorated female bobsledder and most decorated Black Winter Olympian of all time — served as the event's special guest speaker. In a candid conversation with Breastcancer.org founder and Chief Medical Officer Dr. Marisa Weiss, Meyers Taylor spoke publicly for the first time about her family's history with breast cancer, including the loss of her maternal grandmother, who died of the disease at just 37 years old. She described the profound influence that loss has had on her life and her commitment to protecting her own breast health.
The event also marked the debut of Your Breast Health Playbook: 9 Ways to Lower Your Breast Cancer Risk, a new education resource made possible by Lilly, as part of Breastcancer.org's Ultimate Teammate Campaign, for which Meyers Taylor is a new ambassador.
Award Recipients
The Individual Advocate Award — which honors exceptional dedication, leadership, and commitment to promoting women's health and supporting those in the media and marketing industry affected by breast cancer — was presented by Elizabeth Rutledge, Chief Marketing Officer of American Express, to Amy McGovern, Head of Agency Partnerships, East, Best Buy Ads. A breast cancer survivor, McGovern cofounded Media Ladies Conquering Cancer to provide a support system for women in the media industry who have recently been diagnosed with breast cancer.
The Corporate Visionary Award — which recognizes organizations and their leaders who use their platform, influence, and resources to drive meaningful change — was presented by Leslie Kickham, Head of Corporate Communications for Beiersdorf US, to Bloomberg Media and Karen Saltser, CEO. In 2021, Bloomberg Media founded the Bloomberg New Economy International Cancer Coalition, a multistakeholder platform uniting leaders from academia, industry, government, patient advocacy, and policy organizations to accelerate the development of cancer cures and prevention globally. The Coalition works to expand access to cutting-edge treatments and advance regulatory cooperation worldwide.
The Caregiver Award — which acknowledges the exceptional dedication of those who care for a loved one affected by breast cancer and recognizes the disease's profound impact on families — was presented to Jacqueline Farrell, Senior Manager of Fan Engagement and Alumni Relations at NY Rangers/MSG Sports. Farrell's sister Sara was diagnosed with stage 2 triple-negative breast cancer at age 35, while 36 weeks pregnant. Farrell credited MSG Sports for providing the flexibility to work remotely during her sister's treatment, allowing her to be present for both the significant and everyday moments.
About the Event
The awards luncheon was co-chaired by Breastcancer.org board members Katie Kulik, Founder & CEO of NET Revenue, and Carl Fremont, CEO of Quigley-Simpson. Platinum sponsorship was provided by Fullspan Health, with supporting sponsors Lilly and Bloomberg.
"This luncheon represents a powerful intersection of community and cause," said Kulik. “Each year, it brings our industry together to recognize outstanding individuals while supporting a mission that touches so many lives."
Every dollar raised supports Breastcancer.org's programs, which include online support groups, discussion forums, and original content created by health and science writers and reviewed by leading medical experts.
