After six years, Susan Hertzberg resigned her role as president and chief executive officer of Boston Heart Diagnostics in August 2016. During her time at the helm, her visionary leadership guided the product development, market strategy, and overall execution of the company. She transformed the organization from an early stage, venture-backed start-up to the high growth, profitable $150M+ revenue company that it is today. In January 2015, Susan led the successful sale of Boston Heart to Eurofins SE.

Susan has held executive positions at Quest Diagnostics, Abbott Diagnostics, and Oxford Health Plans. Immediately prior to joining Boston Heart, she was the CEO of Ipsogen Inc., where she co-led the road show and ultimate sale of the company to Qiagen, Inc.

As an acknowledged innovator and change leader, Susan has been recognized for developing and executing growth strategies that build enterprises and lead markets. She has a deep passion and commitment to creating values and performance-driven cultures and is highly regarded for combining vision and financial acumen with organizational leadership and execution to drive results.

Susan is a 2014 Ernst and Young "Entrepreneur of the Year" for New England and was also named a national finalist. Additionally, under her leadership, Boston Heart received numerous accolades including the Forbes list of America’s 100 Most Promising Companies, the Deloitte Technology Fast 500 (# 8), and twice named to the Boston Globe’s “Best Places to Work.”

Susan received an MBA from Columbia University and a BA from Clemson University. She has been a guest speaker and panelist at Columbia and Boston University’s business schools and has participated on many industry panels as well. Susan serves on the Founders Affiliates Board of Directors of the American Heart Association and is the 2016 Chair of the Boston Heart Walk. She is retired from the Board of Directors of TheraCare, Inc. a private healthcare, rehabilitation, developmental, and educational service organization. Susan is member of the prestigious Women’s Forum of New York and the International Women’s Forum. She has two adult children.
