Research to Watch at SABCS 2026

This year’s program will include sessions on breast cancer vaccines, liquid biopsy, AI, and more.

The 2026 San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium will be held Dec. 8–11. Nearly 11,000 scientists, healthcare professionals, and advocates will gather to exchange ideas about the latest research and other developments in breast cancer.

SABCS is unique among research conferences: It’s focused exclusively on breast cancer and offers educational programs specifically for advocates. Around 500 breast cancer advocates attend the conference every year.

Special sessions this year will focus on integrating lifestyle medicine into breast cancer care, updates on breast cancer vaccines, GLP-1 medicines and breast cancer, and artificial intelligence in care. Poster sessions will discuss the latest research on HER2-positive disease, liquid biopsies, and how to treat breast cancer that becomes resistant to CDK4/6 inhibitors. Other sessions will focus on financial toxicity, optimizing breast cancer care in older people, and how artificial intelligence is being used in breast cancer.
