September, 2013, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. I do well from time to time but not always. I think I have every side effect known for the various meds. Right now I am suffering from shortness of breath. I have had that before. I had 2200 cc's of fluid removed from my lungs. I suspect that is my problem now.

As I progress in age (78), I am wondering if I am coming to the end of the line as far as changing medications. I have an X-ray scheduled for the end of this month which I hope will show why I am having breathing problems.

My quality of life has been great at times, especially when the side effects have been eliminated. I feel very fortunate that I have enjoyed my life most of the time after my diagnosis (10 years next month). I encourage my fellow sufferers to not give up hope. New meds and treatments are being developed.
