Carmine and Dan's Story: High School Sweethearts Managing Metastatic Breast Cancer

Carmine had been diagnosed with breast cancer twice, but she didn't really think of herself as a cancer survivor. She was focused on a fulfilling and busy life with her husband Dan and their kids. Then at age 57, she received the news that her cancer had spread. While the treatments are working to keep the cancer from progressing, there are many challenges they face.

To help them cope with the emotional toll of metastatic breast cancer, both Carmine and Dan have found a supportive community in the Breastcancer.org virtual meetup groups. The relationships and experience have become a meaningful part of their lives.
