Aromatase inhibitors — Arimidex (chemical name: anastrozole), Aromasin (chemical name: exemestane), and Femara (chemical name: letrozole) — are used to treat hormone receptor-positive breast cancer. But many people don’t take the medicines as prescribed because of side effects, especially bone and joint pain.

Research shows that exercise can help ease aromatase inhibitor-related joint pain. In this video, Sami Mansfield, a certified cancer trainer and founder of Cancer Wellness for Life, leads you through a series of exercises designed to reduce joint pain and stiffness. Mansfield shows several modifications for each exercise so you can find the speed, range of motion, and pace that are right for you.
