Question from susie: What do you think about juicing foods for patients who are on a soft diet due to swallowing difficulties?
Answers - Ronda Gates, M.S., R.Ph. Absolutely!
Marisa Weiss, M.D. For women who have mouth sores due to treatment effects, stay away from any foods that are acidic, spicy, or hot in temperature. Acidic foods include tomato sauce, orange juice, grapefruit juice. I think the easiest consistency of food to swallow is applesauce, not of water consistency. Milk products can soothe a sore throat.
