Associate Director of Project Management
Position Summary
Breastcancer.org is seeking an Associate Director of Project Management to play a pivotal role in orchestrating and implementing key program initiatives. As part of the Development Team, this role involves leading and managing project teams, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget, overseeing strategic planning and execution. This role directly contributes to advancing the mission of Breastcancer.org by ensuring projects align with strategic priorities, meet deliverables, and maximize organizational impact.
Key Responsibilities
Lead internal and external program kick-off meetings, set agendas, track progress, and facilitate post-mortem reviews.
Support the development and implementation of program goals and objectives in alignment with Breastcancer.org’s mission and strategic plan.
Lead and motivate cross-functional project teams, managing project scope, scheduling of program kick off meetings, tracking progress and facilitating post-mortem reviews.
Build and manage project teams (internal and external), assigning roles, tasks, and ensuring timely deliverables.
Partner with Finance to manage budgets, staff time-tracking, expenditures, and funder reporting, ensuring compliance with financial and grant requirements.
Act as a key liaison for project status, communicating effectively with internal and external stakeholders and senior leadership.
Monitor and evaluate program performance; gather data and feedback to inform continuous improvement and
identify continuous improvements for project workflows.
Oversee execution of program deliverables, including marketing elements tied to funded programs.
Maintain accurate records in Raiser’s Edge and ensure all funder-related documentation is executed and stored properly.
Contribute to broader departmental operations, special events, and ad-hoc projects as needed.
Evolve with the organization, adapting responsibilities as Breastcancer.org’s mission and partnerships grow.
Qualifications
5+ years of project management experience with expertise in project management tools (e.g., Asana) as well as professional writing experience.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, direct, and collaborate across diverse teams.
Prior experience in a client facing/client delivery project management capacity.
Strong organizational, communication, time management, negotiation, and risk management skills.
Adaptability and problem-solving ability in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Exceptional attention to detail with a proactive, self-starter mindset.
Experience working with sensitive information and maintaining confidentiality.
Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends.
Knowledge of fundraising principles and practices is preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace.

Breastcancer.org is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role for individuals who reside and work in certain states and locales. The compensation range considers a wide range of factors which are considered in making compensation decisions including skills, experience, education, and location. A reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role is $90,000 to $120,000
