Ned Z. Carp, M.D.

Ned Z. Carp, M.D. is Chief of the Division of General Surgery and Director of Surgical Oncology at Lankenau Hospital in Wynnewood, PA. He was a major contributor to the original trials of sentinel lymph node biopsy for women with early stage of breast cancer. Another important research interest of Dr. Carp's is the evaluation of bone marrow to help detect micrometastatic disease.

Dr. Carp is a native Philadelphian who graduated from the University of Pennsylvania and received his Doctor of Medicine from Temple University School of Medicine. He completed his surgical residency at Abington Memorial Hospital and his surgical oncology fellowship at Fox Chase Cancer Center.

He is a Fellow in the American College of Surgeons, a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, and the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. Dr. Carp is also a member of The American Radium Society, the Society for Surgical Oncology, and a Member of the Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group.

Dr. Carp is on the Breast Committee of the National Surgical Adjuvant Breast Project. He is also on the Breast Committee of the American College of Surgeons Oncology Group.
